Improving School Access in Saint-Louis

Today, Amend held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Nalla Ndiaye and François Mbaye Salzmann Primary Schools in Saint-Louis, Senegal, where lifesaving road safety infrastructure was installed with support from the AFD and the FIA Foundation, as part of the Safe Schools Africa Program. Over the past several years, at least six children have been injured in traffic near these schools. The new measures – developed with local communities and the Senegalese government – separate children from traffic and slow vehicle speeds, improving safety for more than 1,300 students.
